Borderline was released in February of 1984, preceding the major release of Madonna's second Studio album entitled Like a Virgin later that same year. Madonna's self-titled debut album had a difficult time gaining traction in the beginning as is common with most debut albums. But once on fire there was no looking back having released 12 Studio albums in less than 30 years. Let's just say Madonna did not suffer the sophomore slump as so many others do since her second Studio album (Like a virgin), is one of the best selling albums of all-time; I would argue.
