NKOTBSB: NKOTBSB Mash Up (Mash Up)

The NKOTBSB Mash Up is a pretty good Mash Up, as far as Mash Ups go.  However my new favorite Mash Up, or Smash Up as it is entitled, is the Mash Up found at the end of Katy Perry’s re-release of Teenage Dream; entitled Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection.  Of course the New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys are my favorite boy bands.  But Katy Perry blew me away with her Mash Up.

NKOTBSB: Don’t Turn Out the Lights

Don't Turn Out the Lights was released as the lead single to the New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys' first Compilation album as a Supergroup.  The group is entitled NKOTBSB and so is, therefore, the album.  It's not really an original title for the album; however it is very catchy as far as marketing goes and I, for one, think it was an amazing idea to entitle the album of the same name.  It just further emphasizes the creative concept of merging the two names of the two most successful Boy bands in recent History.  The names are pointless to dictate at this point, however I cannot resist.  New Kids on the Block and the Backstreet Boys are my two favorite Boy bands even though 'NSync is a very close third.

Backstreet Boys: I Still…

I Still… was the third single released from the Backstreet Boys’ fifth Studio album entitled Never Gone, however it was one of the better songs on that album and should have been released as the second single; even though they did need a change of pace after IncompleteJust Want you to Know fulfilled that void, but it was kind of dead in the water upon its release and they would have done much better to have released yet another single from this album instead of Just Want you to Know and also instead of I Still…

Backstreet Boys: Just Want You to Know

Just Want You to Know was released as the second single to the long-awaited follow-up of Black & Blue, entitled Never GoneNever Gone was released as the fifth Studio album by the Backstreet Boys, internationally speaking.  However they had a slow start in the United States, so therefore it was only their fourth Studio album released in the United StatesJust Want You to Know was released six months after the lead single of Never Gone, entitled Incomplete and so therefore had a really hard time gaining traction.

Backstreet Boys: Incomplete

Incomplete was released as the lead single to the Backstreet Boys’ long-awaited follow-up to Black & Blue, entitled Never GoneNever Gone was the fifth Studio album released by the Backstreet Boys, internationally and it was essentially five years in the making after a huge run-up in the late 90s for them.  They took a hiatus and have pretty much not stopped since their comeback with an album due next year even.

Backstreet Boys: Inconsolable

Inconsolable is a great song.  It was released as the lead single to the Backstreet Boys' follow-up to Never Gone entitled Unbreakable.  That album was released two years after Never Gone whereas Never Gone was released five years after Black & Blue as that time period represented their hiatus.  However they came out with an album after Unbreakable as well, another two years later, and I even read that they are coming out with yet an additional release originally scheduled for 2012 but has since been pushed back to 2013.  However even at that rate I am impressed.

Backstreet Boys: Straight Through My Heart (Dave Aude Radio Mix)

The Dave Aude Radio Mix of Straight Through My Heart is an amazing remix.  I have extremely fond memories of this song even though it was released during the midst of the Great Recession, a time I will never forget.  It was so bad during that time period; however there is always a silver lining and this song was effectively it.  Above and beyond that, I had seen the Backstreet Boys in concert the summer before and this was the first I had heard of them since.

V: Season Two, "Serpent's Tooth"

I just finished the Second Episode of V from Season Two, and I must say that this season is far better than Season One; although it is also unfortunately the last season. It could be that since I own this season on Blu-ray Disc that I find it better, even though I also feel that it is written better and the production behind this particular season is also of a higher quality. I therefore highly recommend this season, and also the Series itself, to get the complete picture of the Second Season which I favor over the First.

Lost: Season Six, "Sundown"

I just finished the Fifth Episode of Lost from the Sixth Season, entitled “Sundown,” and it was pretty good. This late in the Series, I am finding it difficult to grasp the Plot. None the less it is an excellent show and I would have to say that it is either my favorite show to Blog about or right up there. It’s really difficult for me to decide because the shows I Blog about are so amazing.

Spartacus: Gods of the Arena, "Missio"

I am in the middle of watching the Second Episode of Spartacus: Gods of the Arena, but I couldn't wait to start my Blog entry, as once again I am feeling some heat for the choices I have made in life. I feel like life is too short to live it for someone else. I am too wrapped up in the things I have chose to do in order to do a complete 180 and change directions. After all there is no going back and only onwards and upwards.

The Tudors: Season Two, "Destiny and Fortune"

I just wrapped up the Season finale of The Tudors from Season Two. It is actually the best episode of the Series in my opinion; having seen the Series in entirety once. Unfortunately Anne Boleyn is decapitated, execution style, in this episode and it's one of the saddest things I have ever seen. I was not a fan of Anne Boleyn, because she is ultimately what brought down the Catholic Church in those days; but at the end of her life she really showed true humility to God, and anything done with such Grace as that, is respectable in my opinion. I didn’t get as emotional the second time around. But seeing it the first time brought me to tears for many days to come.

The Hills: Season Two, "When You Least Expect It"

I just finished the Second Episode from the Second Season of The Hills entitled “When You Least Expect It” and it was great. Spencer Pratt and Brody Jenner were featured in this episode and that was great as I am familiar with other work they have done in the past, on other Reality shows and so that is why it makes it great. This episode also featured Heidi Montag as usual, as well, so that was interesting for me because I have been watching footage of her recently for the purposes of my Blog; on the internet, and she looks completely different on The Hills than she does now.

Keeping Up with the Kardashians: Season Two, "Khloé Wants to Act"

I just finished the Third Episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians from Season Two, and it was pretty interesting. Having seen it before it was not nearly as interesting as the first time. However Keeping Up with the Kardashians is an amazing show. Kim, Kourtney and Khloe are an amazing trio of sisters. They always entertain me and I would have to say that presently Khloe is outperforming the others, but that is most likely due in large part to Kim’s exhaustion. I can see it on her face when I watch the show, however it will surely subside.

The Simple Life 4: ‘Til Death Do Us Part, "The Ghauri Family"

I just finished the Second Episode of The Simple Life 4: ‘Til Death Do Us Part entitled “The Ghauri Family.” It was an ok episode, originally airing on June 11th, 2006; which might explain the loss of excitement. I have actually migrated to the likes of The Hills and Keeping Up with the Kardashians to keep me entertained, so it’s a little disappointing coming back to The Simple Life 4, but I dig it.

No Doubt: Ex-Girlfriend

Ex-Girlfriend was released as the first official single from Return of Saturn.  Even though New appears on Return of Saturn and was released as the unofficial first single, it is originally from the Soundtrack album entitled Music from the Motion Picture GoNew was released almost a year in advance prior to the release of Return of Saturn.  Having said that; Ex-Girlfriend is a very well-written song even though I prefer the single that was released preceding it about 10 times more, referring to New.

No Doubt: Don’t Speak

Don’t Speak is ultimately – the – single that catapulted No Doubt to the international stage.  It did so well back in 1996 that it effectively went to #1 in every Developed country in the world.  Above and beyond that, it stayed at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Airplay for 16 weeks.  Having said that it was only released as the album’s third single, referring to the multi-Platinum-selling third Studio album care of No Doubt, entitled Tragic KingdomTragic Kingdom did so well in North America that it is certified Diamond in Canada and the United States of AmericaDiamond represents sales of 10,000,000 units in the United States which is 10x as many than Platinum.

No Doubt: New

I just finished listening to New after just hearing No Doubt's new single earlier today.  How excited am I?  I find it utterly amazing that all these Musical acts and artists are all releasing new material in 2012, especially No Doubt.  I have waited effectively 11 years for the release of their upcoming album and I could not be more excited for the release of it.

No Doubt: Hella Good

Hella Good is absolutely one of my most-favorite No Doubt songs.  It was released as the second single, to the massively successful fifth Studio album produced by No Doubt entitled Rock Steady.  I remember this song most fondly from my days in Ontario, the most populous province in Canada and I just so happened to have renewed my hopes of one day returning to that Province to finish what I created for myself there.

No Doubt: Bathwater

Bathwater was released as the fourth single to No Doubt’s fourth Studio album, entitled Return of Saturn, even though the first single was released from a Soundtrack album before it appeared on Return of Saturn.  Return of Saturn was released in 2000 and although I purchased it on Compact Disc that year, I later returned it with huge regrets.  Years later I purchased their Greatest hits album, entitled The Singles 1992 – 2003, and even though that album encompasses many of the songs found on Return of Saturn; I would still like to own that album on Compact Disc once again.

No Doubt featuring Bounty Killer: Hey Baby

That was a great little Playlist featuring No Doubt.  I always love doing those.  No Doubt is seriously one of my favorite Bands ever.  I appreciate their early sound of Ska punk and of course New Wave.  But their more Modern sound of Reggae and Dancehall literally blew me away.  I mean who can compete with the sound of Hella Good.  I know I am Blogging about Hey Baby but Hella Good should really not go unnoticed.

No Doubt: It’s My Life

It’s My Life was released as the lead single from No Doubt’s Greatest hits album entitled The Singles 1992-2003.  It’s kind of an odd set of numbers but includes great songs none the less.  It’s My Life was originally performed and recorded by Talk Talk:  a British Synthpop band.  It’s My Life was a great way to wrap up the early stage of their career.  Apparently they are coming back with a sixth Studio album this year so it goes without saying why I am promoting them so heavily.

Alanis Morissette: Citizen of the Planet

Citizen of the Planet was not released as a single to Flavors of Entanglement, Alanis Morissette’s seventh Studio album; however it is my favorite song from that album and most definitely one of my most-favorite songs of hers.  It talks about essentially leaving North America and moving on to European bliss.  If you know me, then you know that is all I talk about along with the European Union which is – the – new Super Power of the 21st Century.

Alanis Morissette: Crazy

Crazy was originally performed by Seal, however the Alanis Morissette cover is the most amazing version in my opinion.  Alanis Morissette is Canadian, so I am a little biased as I am Canadian, especially since she was born in the city I went to University at; Ottawa, Ontario.  Ottawa, Ontario is the capital city of Canada and quite frankly represents some of the best times I have ever had in my life which makes me like Alanis Morissette even more.  She didn’t live there while I was there but I could feel her energy.

Alanis Morissette: Everything

Everything was released as the lead single to Alanis Morissette’s sixth Studio album entitled So-Called Chaos and it did fairly well.  Although it could have done much better, and lyrically speaking, it is a little bit on the weak side.  However I still enjoy it and recommend the album on which it’s from, even though this was one of her less interesting albums.  Having said that, Alanis Morissette is so mentally stimulating that she can hardly do any wrong; but it’s difficult to keep up that persona.

Alanis Morissette: So Unsexy

So Unsexy was released as a promotional single to Under Rug Swept but it impressed me enough to bring it to life a little further.  Having said that it is not the best song lyrically speaking but the beat is pretty good and overall the Harmony is outstanding.  This song was also apparently released in Brazil as the seventh and final single to Under Rug Swept, but I have to do further research to find out the truth behind these supposed singles and promotional singles to Under Rug Swept.

Alanis Morissette: Precious Illusions

Precious Illusions was released as the second single to Under Rug Swept, Alanis Morissette’s fifth Studio album, including her Canadian releases, and overall it is a pretty good song.  Apparently there were no other songs released from Under Rug Swept, after this single, internationally but a few in different countries following the release of Precious IllusionsPrecious Illusions talks about some pretty deep topics which I always encourage to embrace as they make you think outside of the box which is where we want to be most of the time.

Alanis Morissette: Unsent

Unsent was released as the third single to Alanis Morissette’s follow-up of Jagged Little Pill, entitled Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie.  The name says it all; you just can’t find good titles to Studio albums like that anymore.  Especially in this Era of downloading songs or singles only and forgetting about the rest of the album; however I have stopped doing that.  I have not downloaded a solitary song since January 3rd, 2012 and have only bought Studio albums on Compact Disc since.  I have quite a collection already even though they are more expensive.

Alanis Morissette: Hand in My Pocket

Hand in my Pocket was released as the follow-up single to Alanis Morissette’s international debut single, You Oughta Know.  Of course that single was released from Alanis Morissette’s most successful album ever, also known as her international debut Studio album; Jagged Little Pill.  That album is certified 16x Platinum and 14x Platinum in the United States of America and Australia alone, respectively speaking.  Above and beyond that it has sales of roughly 33 million copies worldwide.

David Guetta featuring Sia: Titanium

I already wrote a Blog entry on Titanium, but it got lost in Cyberspace and I couldn't get it back so I have to write another one.  It's unfortunate, as well because it was one of my better Blog entries, but none the less here goes.  Titanium is a great song and should not be overlooked.

David Guetta & Afrojack: Lunar

I haven't listened to Lunar in quite some time.  However I am quite familiar with it considering I downloaded the single to that song, legally of course, last year along with a remix as well.  But that wasn't enough so I went ahead and bought Nothing but the Beat, the album on which that song is from, on Compact Disc because I was so impressed with the singles from that album, including but not limited to Lunar of course.  Lunar wasn't even released as an official single however it was released as a promotional single for Nothing but the Beat so it impressed me enough to download it back then, before I bought the album.

David Guetta featuring Chris Brown & Lil Wayne: I Can Only Imagine

I Can Only Imagine by David Guetta featuring Chris Brown and Lil Wayne is an amazing track.  As far as I am concerned it is a play off of the original song of the same title.  That song, or version as I should say considering they are of the same name, was originally performed by MercyMe and I must say is a great version in and of itself.  However I am also listening to yet another version of this song presently entitled Imagine/Sing the Wondrous Love of Jesus performed by Amy Grant and that version is actually superior to the MercyMe version whereas the David Guetta version is of equal standing with hers.

David Guetta featuring Usher: Without You

Without You was released as the third single from David Guetta’s triple-Platinum-selling fifth Studio album entitled Nothing but the Beat; having said that it was triple-Platinum-selling in France alone, his native country.  However it did quite well in other major countries of the European Union and of course good old America.  North America hardly seems like a hot topic nowadays, however the sales in the European Union of this album impress me.

Snoop Dogg vs. David Guetta: Sweat

I just finished listening to Sweat, found on David Guetta’s triple-Platinum selling fifth Studio album entitled Nothing but the Beat; so the Snoop Dogg vs. David Guetta version.  This particular version is amazing, having downloaded the MP3 Dubstep remix last year.  However I am listening to this version on Compact Disc, so the sound quality is about ten times better than the MP3 version I downloaded which is also the Dubstep remix.  Sweat is a great song.

David Guetta featuring Taio Cruz & Ludacris: Little Bad Girl

I just finished listening to Little Bad Girl and it was amazing.  I must say that I didn't like that song at first, and even after I downloaded it legally from iTunes I still didn't like it.  Then I downloaded a remix for it and it grew on me a bit; however then I decided to purchase the Compact Disc of Nothing but the Beat and that's when I really fell in love with it.  Compact Disc quality is so much better than MP3 quality, and if you are from the Millennial generation than I highly recommend at least one Compact Disc purchase in your lifetime.

David Guetta featuring Flo Rida & Nicki Minaj: Where Them Girls At

I am supposed to be blogging about Where Them Girls At by David Guetta, featuring Flo RidaNicki Minaj; but I find that song extremely boring.  Flo Rida just doesn't cut it for me most of the time and Nicki Minaj always pushes the limits.  I am more of a Wiz Khalifa and Missy Elliott fan when it comes to male and female rappers.  Those are the kind of lyrics that inspire me.

Madonna: Rain

Rain was released as the fifth official single to Erotica, but for all intense purposes it was released as the fourth.  I say that because Fever, which was released as the fourth single officially, was more or less a dance track although it did very well as a dance track considering what singles like that do today.  Rain is actually one of my favorite tracks from Erotica and one of my most-favorite Madonna tracks ever.

Madonna: Words

Words was not released as an official single to the album, Erotica, but once again a great song, none the less.  Lyrically speaking, this is one of Madonna's most well-written songs.  It precedes Rain on Erotica and it couldn't be a better song choice for the dichotomy it creates.  Rain is uplifting and inspirational whereas Words is linguistically informative and relative in terms of perception and reality.

Madonna: Thief of Hearts

Thief of Hearts was also not released as an official single to the album Erotica, but none the less another great song, lyrically speaking.  The Erotica era was one of Madonna's best time periods for written work.  In my opinion, she came up with some of the most innovative lyrics of her career.  They are a little dark but great for a mind that needs to be stimulated.  Once again the lyrics to this song are extremely explicit but amazing in nature with the last line quoted as "now sit your a** down."

Madonna: Where Life Begins

Where Life Begins was not released as a single to the album Erotica, but none the less it is a great song.  Of course it is not for the faint of heart because it has lyrics that are extremely controversial and explicit it nature.  However one of my favorite lines is "finger licking good."  It's not that I believe in the sexual nature of that line but it most definitely reminds me of Kentucky Fried Chicken.

Madonna: Deeper and Deeper

Deeper and Deeper was released as the second single to Madonna’s fifth Studio album.  I am amazed after reading some of the information for the purposes of my Blog, that Erotica was only Madonna’s fifth Studio album.  However; with her numerous Soundtrack albums and Compilation albums it’s hard to keep track.  Deeper and Deeper was more of a mainstream track as compared to its predecessor, the song Erotica.
