Star Trek

I just finished the first half of Star Trek and it was great.  So nice to think outside the Atmosphere and Solar System every now and then; I hear that there are plenty of other planets and so on out there from the research I have done and things I have seen.  It’s pretty amazing actually because I have often caught myself thinking of faraway places and what the Universe is really like.  I guess one can only imagine at this point, but I do have a pretty good imagination.
I just wrapped up Star Trek on this night of 11/11/11.  It only happens once a Century and I would have to say it was a magical experience.  I remember one line vaguely from the movie where the future Spock is speaking to the present Spock and he instructs him to put aside logic and do what feels right.  That is amazing if you really think of it because if you continue on doing what is logical, you will get nowhere.

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra

I am in the middle of watching G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra again.  I hear the second part of this series is coming out in 2012, just in time for the Doomsday, prophesied to take place on December 21st, 2012.  That should be exciting, but I am not holding my breath that there is going to be some huge cataclysmic event as I do not believe in the prophecies or what have you that were foretold in the movie 2012.  However if you are not living in a cave then you well-know that there are certain things happening in the world today that are disturbing and utterly impossible to avoid.  So I guess we might as well try to have fun while we are at it.  This movie is a great way to do so.
I just finished G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and it was exciting.  I love the end.  Not only do they play my favorite remix of Boom Boom Pow during the credits, but I also love when Rex Lewis/The Doctor turns into Cobra Commander and James McCullen XXIV turns into Destro.  Those are two very exciting characters that I actually remember from my childhood when I played G.I. Joe.  It was really exciting to see the development of those characters and Cobra Commander is actually played by a really good and favorite actor of mine named Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

I Am Legend

I am in the middle of watching I Am Legend on this Saturday night before All Hallows’ Eve, or the night before All Saints Day.  Anyhow it’s quite an interesting film.  I just got it on DVD but I have seen it before so it’s not as exciting as you might think.  It’s actually a great precursor to this year’s Halloween however.  That takes place this Monday.
I just wrapped up I Am Legend and it was a great.  A little too spooky for my liking but it was Halloween so all in good fun.  I have some more films to see but at least this was one I haven’t seen much of even though I can do without much of Will Smith's theatrics.

The Dark Knight

I just finished the first half of The Dark Knight on Blu-ray Disc and it was thrilling and stunning.  I am so in love with this movie, but mostly because of Heath Ledger and not Christian Bale this time around.  I say that because unfortunately Heath Ledger is no longer with us and I would have to say that it is mostly because of his stunning performance in The Dark Knight.  It must have just taken the good right out of him and I can totally relate to that phenomena.  The thing is Heath Ledger was such a great actor and I am sure wherever he is, he is still outperforming himself.
I just wrapped up the end of The Dark Knight.  It was seriously one of the best movies I have ever seen.  I have seen it before, but that was back in early April and it is now November.  I am so looking forward to the third installment which is due out next year I believe; I just checked and it is due out next year, so that will be exciting, although it will be missing most of the excitement that this series brings since Heath Ledger is no longer with us.  But I am sure it will still be an excellent movie.

Batman Begins

I am about halfway through Batman Begins.  It’s a great movie but I can see why it didn’t do as good as The Dark Knight although it is more of an appetizer anyhow.  Christian Bale is definitely one of my favorite actors right now and I am also about to watch another film of his entitled Terminator Salvation; another movie of his that isn’t that stellar, but he did recently win the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor at the 83rd Academy Awards for his role in The Fighter.
Now that movie is a great movie and was nominated for Best Picture at that same award ceremony even though it didn’t win, however I own that movie on Disc as well, Blu-ray Disc.  So I just wrapped up Batman Begins finally.  It was a great movie.  Christian Bale is an amazing actor in my opinion.  I have The Dark Knight as the next film on the docket so that should be fun and entertaining.

Tron: Legacy

I just wrapped up my third run-through of Tron: Legacy.  It was a great film and I will watch it again, albeit not for another year most likely.  It took me about six months just to watch it for a third time from the second.  But that’s because I have so much material.  It’s great actually but I may get to it before another year is up as I am watching my DVDs at the same time and I promised myself that once I am through with those, I will go through my Blu-ray Discs again as well.
So right now I am about halfway through my DVD collection and I am also about halfway through with my Blu-ray Disc collection.  So with Christmas over-with at the end of the year I might be back to this film at the beginning of next year or a little further depending on what happens.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

I just finished the second installment from the Transformers film series.  I did it in honor of the third installment being released on Disc.  The third installment is obviously entitled Transformers: Dark of the Moon and it was just released on Disc this season.  I am not able to buy it yet as things have changed for me financially speaking.  I wish I could, but I can’t so I will have to wait until I can afford it.
I would love to get it on Blu-ray Disc so maybe that is what’s holding me back as I have the other two on DVD.  I also feel the pinch of Austerity so things are looking a little bit grim right now.  However I know that good things come to those who wait and I am willing to wait because I believe in this series and I always told myself that I would purchase the final installment on Blu-ray Disc.

Amy Grant: Fairest Lord Jesus

Fairest Lord Jesus is one of my favorite hymns ever.  It talks about how Jesus is fairer than all the rest and although he might be, I think he would be the first to admit that he has made mistakes as well.  That’s not to say that he isn’t fairer than the rest, but he is certainly aware that he has offended people at times, Satan is a great example of that.

Amy Grant: It Is Well with My Soul

I just finished listening to the most amazing religious experience.  It’s so good to know that God is on your side even if everyone else isn’t.  After all what more do you need than that?  I know it might sound crazy but God is always there for you, even in the thick of it all because he will never let you down.

Amy Grant: This is My Father's World

This is my precursor to Christmas music.  I am trying to get warmed up but it’s just not happening.  Not only that but it is unusually warm outside and I hate it.  I always prefer snow at this time of year and especially on my birthday which is only days away from Christmas.  It’s one of the only wishes I have really, but everyone else is talking about how much they hate that.  Sometimes I think they should just move to India or something, where it's really hot.

Yolanda Adams featuring Gerald Levert: I Believe I Can Fly

Listening to Yolanda Adams again was great.  I enjoy her albums so much and this one is no different, in fact it is my favorite.  The Experience is a live album but none the less is one of her most memorable and exciting.  Live albums tend to be lacking a certain quality in sound but this one makes up for it with the enthusiasm throughout the crowd and so on.  I am very happy to say that I bought this album around ten years ago and that makes it a classic in my opinion.

Yolanda Adams: Yeah

Yeah is a great song.  Off the top of my head I can’t think of anything positive to say about it, but it is a great Inspirational song.  It talks about talking or praying to whomever every day.  That’s a great theory in practice but who has time to sit there and pray all the time when there is work to do.  I would rather get on with my day but I can see how it is beneficial because I often find myself doing it; although I would rather express myself through text or in person.

Yolanda Adams: Open My Heart

Open My Heart is a great song.  It reminds me of the turn of the Century, this present Century that is, and not the previous.  I bought the album from which it’s on, along with two others from Yolanda Adams and all I can remember is wanting more.  Unfortunately I cannot buy every CD that has ever been made, although I would love to.  However in order to listen to every song and get to know them I would constantly be listening to music.

Yolanda Adams: The Battle Is the Lord's

This was a good song.  It was more like a warm-up to the rest of the songs I listened to.  I much prefer Yolanda Adams' more recent song selection; however I wanted to encompass her entire collection that I have.  This is the first album I have of hers.  The rest are much better, but I always like to save the best for last.  Christmas is coming soon, too, so I thought it would be great to usher in some Inspirational music before I get to the “hot and heavy” part of the year.

Usher featuring Pitbull & HyperCrush: DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love (HyperCrush Remix)

This is actually one of the best remixes I have ever heard.  Hyper Crush does an amazing job on this performance.  Apparently they are a band from Los Angeles, surprisingly enough considering I am all over Los Angeles these days.  I even went so far as to buy the movie Battle: Los Angeles earlier this year, on Blu-ray Disc.  It was thrilling and exciting and I plan on watching it again very soon.  Hyper Crush is a band I am less familiar with, but what I am not and who I am not familiar with is Usher.  I have supported him for so long during this stage of his career, that it’s phenomenal really.  He has paid back so much in spiritual Dividends through his music that it impresses me and astounds me all of the time.

Benny Benassi featuring Gary Go: Cinema (Alex Gaudino & Jason Rooney Remix)

I am so impressed with the remix to this song.  The song itself, the original that is, was phenomenal without being remixed.  However the tag-team of Alex Gaudino & Jason Rooney do something so phenomenal that it makes you think you are in another world.  It’s absolutely amazing and outstanding and if you have never been to a Rave or what have you; then this song will definitely transport you there as it has the magic touch to make you feel like you are on another planet.

Bjork: Crystalline (Matthew Herbert Mix)

I wasn’t really impressed with this remix.  Only because the original was out of this world; if you haven’t downloaded it yet, then I highly recommend it, as opposed to only recommending this mix slightly.  It just didn’t do much for me and trust me, when you compare it to what I was listening to alongside of it then you would understand my frustration with this particular mix.  However, the original like I said was completely out of this world and if you haven’t downloaded it yet or what have you then you should most definitely do so and if not then you should rush out to buy the album because I am sure that that was only a taste of what was on the album.

Lady GaGa: You and I (Danny Verde Remix)

This remix really surprised me.  I thought it would be as bad as the song, but it actually got me to like the song again.  I never really liked it to begin with, but this remix was so awe inspiring that I think I love this song now.  I would have to go back and listen to the original again, but the remix is out of this world and if she isn’t featuring this particular remix on her upcoming remix album, then I highly suggest she do so or at least to whoever is reading this: download this particular remix because it is amazing.

Jennifer Lopez: Papi (R3hab Club)

This has got to be one of the best Clubs I have ever heard.  The R3hab Club of Papi is so amazing that I can’t even begin to tell you.  It’s just great and Jennifer Lopez is back on top.  It’s like when she says in the song that he lets her wear the crown.  It’s just a great uplifting message and I am so glad that I downloaded the original and the remix.  Of course the remix is so much better than the original but I am just saying.  R3hab is a great DJ/Producer musician.  Of course I don’t really think they are a musician but I couldn’t find very much information about them on the internet.  The only have a Facebook profile so far.

Nicole Scherzinger: Don’t Hold Your Breath (Fred Falke Remix)

This is a great remix of a great song.  I am so glad I waited this long to support Nicole Scherzinger's solo effort.  I hesitated for a long time because I do not often support solo efforts from a group member, i.e. Beyonce Knowles of Destiny’s Child, but I felt like Nicole Scherzinger had a better chance at impressing me since I wasn’t feeling Pussycat Doll fatigue whatsoever.  In fact I would have to say that it was quite the opposite since I was hoping for a follow-up to 2008's mega-successful answer to PCD entitled Doll Domination.  There was even an Extended Play or EP as it was so successful entitled Doll Domination: The Mini Collection.  Don’t Hold Your Breath is a great song.

Enrique Iglesias featuring Pitbull & The WAV.s: I Like How It Feels

I just can’t seem to get enough of Enrique.  It must be all the years of neglect and wanting to buy his stuff.  It’s just amazing and he keeps putting out hit after hit.  It must be his turn to shine because he is certainly doing it.  I Like How It Feels” is an amazing track and I highly recommend it.  Euphoria has gotten too complicated to figure out but apparently this single is from the re-release edition of Euphoria and the eighth overall single.  That’s great because I can think of several other singles, all from this album that I have purchased and most of them have all done well.  What I recommend at this point is to buy the album and be done with it as you will have all the hit singles released from it.  Of course you have to find the right edition, so it’s the re-release of Euphoria.

Jersey Shore: Season Two, Episode Twelve

I just finished the second last episode of Jersey Shore from Season Two.  It’s pretty depressing because I do not have the Third Season yet and I don’t seem anywhere close to getting it.  Not only that, but I am pretty sure that the Fourth Season is coming out soon so that will be even more depressing considering that I haven’t even seen much of either season.  In fact I haven’t seen any of the Fourth Season and it is killing me that I have to wait.

The Simple Life: Season Three (Interns), Episode Four

Another great episode of The Simple Life, this time they were helping some smokers to quit but it didn’t work out very well.  I can’t believe people still smoke in this day and age.  I know this episode was filmed years ago, but it’s amazing how I still see people who smoke.  They really need to find an alternative source of energy or what have you.  Don’t they know that energy drinks are all the rage right now?

Legend of the Seeker: Season One, Episode Two

I just finished another great episode of Legend of the Seeker.  It came with many lessons, one of which I am trying to remember right now and so it was something like:  Sometimes to get ahead the best thing is to slow down.  That’s a great lesson to learn while all these people try to rush around and do everything.  They are never going to get further ahead no matter how much they try but it sure is fun to see them and the thing is once you take everything down a notch, you begin to understand the true meaning of life.

Desperate Housewives: Season One, Episode Two

I just finished the Second Episode of Desperate Housewives, Season One.  It was very entertaining and very interesting at the same time.  Mary Alice Young talks about leaving her life behind and getting a much better view of things.  It’s so ironic because I have done the same sort of thing.  I used to rush around trying to get everything done and now I just let things happen as they may, after all what is the rush if death is the result in the long run?  You might as well figure out how to get along with incorporating death into your daily life.  It’s inevitable and will always happen.  Death is always waiting at your doorstop.

Private Practice: Season Two, Episode Eleven

That was a great episode of Private Practice.  This show has really grown on me and it’s a good thing because I have invested a lot of money and sweat equity in it.  I remember the lengths at which I went to get it.  It was earlier this year and I had to literally jump through hoops to get it as everywhere I went, it was out of stock.  I think I finally ordered it from Amazon.com which is what I should have done in the first place because Amazon.com usually has everything you need.  It’s a great website and the biggest online retailer in the world.

Lost: Season Five, Episode Five

That was just a great episode of Lost.  I am so excited.  I am not sure if it was an episode from November Sweeps but I am watching it in November so it is a November Sweeps episode to me none the less.  This show is amazing if you have never seen it, and within the last ten years I would have to say that it is one of the better shows produced.  I am completely amazed and thrilled by it, as it encompasses some the best television programming I have ever seen.

Ugly Betty: Season Two, Episode Fourteen

I just finished the Fourteenth Episode of Ugly Betty, Season Two.  I only have four episodes left from this season now, and then it’s onto Season Three which is my second favorite season.  I don’t want to rush through it though because I am trying to enjoy it more thoroughly this time around since I literally finished the series in a matter of months the first time around; and so this time I want to savor the moment.  So far it’s been working out pretty good because I feel more excited when it’s time to watch it as opposed to how I feel about some things when it’s time to watch those.

Alanis Morissette: Flavors of Entanglement

I listened to the first five songs from this album once and it was amazing.  Citizen of the Planet is a great song, Underneath is amazing, Strait Jacket is great, Versions of Violence is great, and Not as We is good too.  So overall this album is amazing, but I am a little biased considering it is her last release from Madonna's former label entitled Maverick.  That was a great label and still is, but without Madonna and Alanis attached to it, it won’t nearly be the same.

Alanis Morissette: The Collection

Alanis is playing off of The Immaculate Collection with her greatest hits package.  It is after all on Madonna's former label entitled Maverick.  Alanis Morissette: The Collection is a great piece of work and features Seal's 1991 song entitled Crazy.  That is a great inspirational track and can only be found on Alanis' 2005 greatest hits package entitled Alanis Morissette: The Collection, covered by her.

Alanis Morissette: Feast on Scraps

I think I was desperate for something from Alanis when I bought this, either that or it was on-sale because it really isn’t a stellar package.  It comes with a DVD and CD but I don’t think I have ever listened to the CD nor could I tell you what’s on it.  The DVD on the same hand has similar attributes in that it fades in and out with poor-sound-quality-to-good, but it’s mostly poor.  It has a bizarre feel to it and I would have to say that unless you are desperate for Alanis Morissette material, there is really no reason to buy this DVD/CD combo, especially when there is so much more well-produced material of hers.

Alanis Morissette: So-Called Chaos

So-Called Chaos is a great album but mostly because of the third single released from it.  That is Eight Easy Steps and it offers some great advice during the bridge, at the end.  It says, and I quote: “I've been doing research for years; I've been practicing my ass off; I've been training my whole life for this moment (I swear to you); culminating just to be this well-versed leader before you.”

Alanis Morissette: Under Rug Swept

Under Rug Swept is a great album.  Most notably, Hands Clean, is the best track.  There are other great tracks on this album but none shine as bright as Hands Clean.  I just finished listening to the original and it was a great inspirational experience.

Alanis Morissette: Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie

Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie is most likely one of, if not, the best album ever produced by Alanis Morissette.  Of course it features Glen Ballard as a producer as well, but most notably it features her since some, if not many, might think of her as a singer only.  She not only does that, but writes most of her material.  The only song that comes to mind that she didn’t write, but was commercially successful would be Crazy; that was written by none other than Seal and Guy Sigsworth.

Alanis Morissette: Jagged Little Pill

Jagged Little Pill is the third studio album by Canadian recording artist Alanis Morissette, but for all intense purposes it is only her first as it is truly her international debut, or American debut.

The Sims 2: Pets Expansion Pack

Well I decided to stop playing The Sims 2 for now.  It was causing me too many headaches and I have to work from this computer so it doesn’t help with that.  I was literally petrified that my computer would crash from simply opening a program and I am still, somewhat of the time.  I am however looking forward to getting a new computer and starting my adventures from there.  That should be fun and I have already begun to look for one.

The Sims 2: Open for Business Expansion Pack

I just started the Goth family in The Sims 2, and I already got Dina Caliente to move in with them even though she just came over for supper.  It wasn’t easy by any stretch of the imagination but I am somewhat of a pro at getting people to move in now since all you have to do is feed them and entertain them.  That’s pretty easy, but what I recommend is to get them to stay the night first and if things go well then I suggest getting them to move in.  You don’t have to propose to them right away but perhaps after a few nights of having the Sim live with you, you could arrange a marriage.
After that you might as well throw a huge wedding party and get married.  That’s the best part about being in a relationship so after that it’s all downhill, but you can have children which will add entertainment to your life.  I often recommend having more than one, but if your computer is not up to snuff then I only recommend one, but the possibilities are endless so have a field day.

The Sims 2: Nightlife Expansion Pack

I just moved the Lotharios from their small two-bedroom house, into a huge five-bedroom house.  This should be fun and it literally is already, just furnishing it.  It might crash on me though so I have to be extremely careful.  I have five Sims in this house already and I am planning on having at least one more since the mother Sim is pregnant.  It might be very difficult to control these Sims under these conditions but I will do my best and might even attempt to start another family since this one is getting somewhat out of control.

The Sims 2: Seasons Expansion Pack

Cassandra is pregnant again.  I couldn’t resist.  It came up as one of her wants and it seems irresistible when that happens.  I think it’s one of Don's fears so I will have to be careful next time; and they will most likely have to move into a new house once the child is born but that’s ok because furnishing it will be fun.  The girls grew into children and they are now more self sufficient but I still have to make meals for them.  Don got his promotion so he is working less and will be able to help around the house more.  Cassandra still has tons of vacation time so she will be the stay-at-home mother.  It’s easier that way because I always have problems with the nanny and the children’s aspiration meter always increases more when they do not have a stranger helping them grow up.  Anyhow it was a great day of The Sims.  I am looking forward to the next.

The Sims 2: Glamour Life Stuff Pack

Cassandra just gave birth to her third child and it was a boy.  They named him Ricardo to stick with the Italian/Latin feel.  So they now have three children and the nanny just showed up to help them, along with Cassandra who took the day off of work.  Don is going to work as far as I know but I haven’t gotten that far yet, although I am sure he will.  He is so tired from helping the children all night that he might pass out when he gets home but once his needs are full again he will be well on his way for another promotion.  It should be a very exciting next installment of The Sims.

The Sims 2: University Expansion Pack

This is great, Cassandra is pregnant with their third child and things are humming along quite nicely.  I haven’t had a crash in a while, although I do not want to jinx it.  I just save so often so that in case it does crash I won’t have far to pick up from.  Don is almost on his way to another promotion which means he will be the next step up after General Practitioner.  Things are going pretty good for them; perhaps I should start playing some other families and see how far I can get them this time.

The Sims 2

Finally Cassandra gave birth and it was just as I hoped for, twins.  I named them Carmela and Georgina since they are identical and those are somewhat Italian or Latin names.  Anyhow it was great watching her give birth and now she is so exhausted from giving birth to twins that she is spending the day in bed but that’s ok because Don will be home soon and then they can try for another baby.  I want them to have a big family because they have the income to support it and I love getting these two characters together because they are kind of Italian or whatever so that’s always fun because big Italian families are interesting.
