The Cataracs & Dev: Top of the World & Bass Down Low

I am doing a special on The Cataracs and Dev because I love them so much.  What I prefer so far, as in my opinion they are nowhere through, is Top of the World, from The Cataracs and Bass Down Low, by Dev.  These two songs are amazing in my opinion as they are coming off the massive success of Like a G6 on which they are featured.  That song obviously brought Far East Movement to the forefront, but The Cataracs and Dev are stars in their own right.

P!nk: I’m Not Dead

I just listened to a really amazing set from P!nk.  I mean who doesn’t love her.  But I was slow to jump on her most recent bandwagon.  I recently downloaded The Remixes – EP from her fourth studio album entitled I’m Not Dead.  It was a great album and I should have bought it but I decided to wait to purchase the originals from her greatest hits album instead, entitled Greatest Hits… So Far!!!  That was a great choice of mine however I should have bought the album as well considering that back then I would have most likely purchased the Compact Disc.  Those are a commodity these days but back then it would have been so great and for anyone who doesn’t know what a Compact Disc is, then you are missing out, as they represent some of the greatest quality music out there.

Lady GaGa: Born This Way

I decided to make a CD of some music I downloaded from iTunes.  I use iTunes because Amazon isn’t available in my country.  So the three songs I picked were Judas, The Edge of Glory, and Born This Way.  I decided I would make a CD out of the remixes so I burned the maxi-singles I have for those three songs onto a disc.  The result is amazing.  Of course I didn’t have room for every remix but I did burn the remixes I love the most.  In descending order from most-favorite to least are the R3HAB Remix of Judas, the Sultan & Ned Shepard Remix from The Edge of Glory, and the Zedd Remix of Born This Way.  I can guarantee you that these are some of the most amazing remixes that I have ever heard and I - would - go out on a limb and tell you that they might yet be the most amazing I have ever heard.

The Black Eyed Peas: The E.N.D.

I decided to listen to the three maxi-singles I have from the Black Eyed Peas' second most-recent album, The E.N.D.  The three maxi-singles I have from that album that I downloaded from iTunes are Boom Boom Pow, I Gotta Feeling, and Meet Me Halfway.  Boom Boom Pow and Meet Me Halfway both feature great remixes from DJ Ammo/Poet Name Life and I Gotta Feeling features a great remix by none other than David Guetta.  The Boom Boom Pow remix that I love is entitled Boom Boom Boom (DJ Ammo/Poet Named Life Megamix) and the Meet Me Halfway remix that I love is the DJ Ammo/Poet Name Life Remix.  I am not sure if you can see the difference there, but there is a clear difference.  The Boom Boom Pow remix aforementioned above is actually featured on the soundtrack of G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra that I will Blog about shortly given that I own it on DVD and will be watching it.

Mariah Carey: Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel

I said I wouldn’t listen to anymore Mariah Carey before Christmas because that is her turn to shine but I couldn’t help myself.  This is a great album and even though I didn’t buy the CD, probably the first CD of hers I haven’t bought in a long time, I still downloaded the five singles released from it.  Not only that but the last two singles released from it that I downloaded were not the originals found on the album, yet a double release slated for a supposed remix album that didn’t come to fruition.  I am kind of glad that she didn’t release it because I was actually hoping for a dance remix album and it was more of a hip hop remix album.  I have never been a huge fan of those, but I will hold my breath for a dance remix album of hers in the future because she often does this.

David Guetta: One Love / One More Love

David Guetta is out of this world.  His music is so nonstop exciting that I can’t seem to download it enough.  I already have stuff lined up until the end of the year practically, and that is very stringent decision making, seeing as I cannot download everything.  I might even want to buy something on CD as I have begun doing that again since CD quality is so much better than Digital Download.  There is really no comparison, but almost everything is available as a Digital Download, whereas you would be hard pressed to find everything you want on CD nowadays.

Far East Movement: Free Wired

Listening to my collection of Far East Movement's work and songs was amazing.  I have a few of their songs now and many remixes, so it’s quite entertaining to sit there and listen to them because I get such a joy out of listening to their music.  They have got to be one the best new groups that I have ever heard and in fact I hear they have a new song out already so that should be very fun and entertaining to support, considering I usually download the song and any remixes that accompany it.
So I just downloaded the “Rocketeer” maxi-single or EP and it is excellent.  I will be writing about that in the weeks to come and in the meantime you can download some of their most recent work which is highly recommendable in my opinion.

Keeping Up with the Kardashians: Season Two, episode 10

I just finished the Season Finale of Season Two from Keeping Up with the Kardashians.  I must say it was amazing and I will miss them as I have yet to purchase the Third Season.  That might not come for a while yet and even at that rate there is still no word from Amazon.com when the Fourth Season will be released, let alone the Fifth.  Anyhow I am not ruling it out as this is an extremely lucrative series and has been on the air for a long time.

Jersey Shore: Season Two, episode 9

That was another great episode of Jersey Shore.  I hope I can get the Third & Fourth Season when they are released on DVD.  I say that because the Fourth isn’t released yet, but the Third is, so maybe sometime next year.  I still have four more episodes of this season to watch, so that should be exciting, but I have heard so much about this show that I am eagerly awaiting the Third Season because I haven’t seen much of it whereas I saw most of the First & Second Season while it was on the air before I purchased and received them on DVD.

The Simple Life: Season Three (Interns), episode 1

That was a great episode of The Simple Life.  I am now on Season Three which is entitled Interns.  I have seen it before so I know it’s good, but even given that I still find it absolutely amazing.  The laughter just never stops with this show.  I have a hard time containing my excitement when I am watching Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie.  It just seems too good to be true so I will definitely let you know how the rest turns out and it should be a great season.  I am looking forward to it and I have 15 episodes left from this star-studded season.  It was a great season and still remains my favorite along with being the longest.  Most of the seasons only have 10 episodes however this one has 16.

Private Practice: Season Two, episode 8

I could have done without that episode of Private Practice.  It was actually an extended episode and here I thought I was in for a treat.  It started off great but then got back to the sappy formula it used to inhibit.  I prefer the cutting edge raw side of Private Practice but it’s my understanding that that doesn’t come to fruition until the Fourth Season.  I think the ratings were lagging a bit and they wanted to attract a new audience since Mothers with children barely watch television.

Lost: Season Five, episode 2

I just finished another great episode of Lost.  That show always delivers.  I don’t think I have been very disappointed with this show very often.  In fact I would have to say that it is definitely one of the best shows I have ever seen.  It amazes me with its Science Fiction and Plot.

Rome: Season One, episode 2

I just finished a great episode of Rome.  It was the second episode from the First Season so the second episode overall as well.  It was just great, but things are heating up and the climactic point of the series, in my opinion is at the end of the First Season.  Everything after that just fizzles out but definitely worth the purchase of both seasons none the less.  This is a great series overall and I have seen it many times so I know exactly what I am taking about.  It was also most likely the most expensive series I have ever purchased, but like I said, completely worth it.

The Tudors: Season Two, episode 3

The third episode of the Second Season wasn’t very good, but this show was never out of this world to begin with.  It’s a great show and all but I much prefer the show I was just talking about being Rome.  That’s a great show, but I was always partial to the Roman Empire as opposed to the British One.  Anyhow I appreciate King Henry the 8th's plight and I too often think of him when I think of the British Empire and so on, but I am not in love with the Church of England's ideology.  I much prefer the Vatican but that’s because I have Roman Catholic roots and wouldn’t necessarily fit into the Protestant movement as much as some.

Madonna: Rescue Me

That was a great set of Madonna, featuring the Titanic Vocal Mix of Rescue Me, although I am sure the neighbors didn’t appreciate it.  What is with people and Madonna?  It must be because she is so holy, at least in my eyes.  I don’t know anyone who wouldn’t be holy with a name like that though.  Anyhow it was a great rendition of this song, I prefer the original, but I am a little old school when it comes to that song.  It can only be found on The Immaculate Collection and that must be why.  I mean why else would you buy that collection other than for the original version of Rescue Me, Express Yourself, and Vogue.  Of course there are other reasons, but those are the power house songs.  I just love them and Rescue Me tops it all off.

Madonna: Justify My Love

That time I listened to The Beast Within Mix of Justify My Love.  I couldn’t have asked for a better song, especially in this day and age.  I am not sure who or what the Beast is but it’s pretty fun to use my imagination.  I don’t even know if she is referring to something in this day and age but that too is fun to imagine.  So the way I see it is I wrote down the lyrics to this mix a very long time ago while I was a child and I had no idea it would be so significant in the year 2012.  I know it isn’t 2012 yet but I understand that that year is significant so at this point of the year in 2011 I can safely say 2012 since I am now rounding up, also to the nearest even number.  I have no idea what next year will bring but I have seen the movie 2012 numerous times given that I own it on DVD and also went to the Theatre to see it; so I have seen it many times and it is somewhat engrained into my mind.

Madonna: True Blue

I was just listening to True Blue.  The album is great, but what’s even better is Live to Tell and Love Makes the World Go Round.  Those are the two songs I chose to listen to and I don’t regret it.  Love Makes the World Go Round is a little dated but Live to Tell is pretty current especially since Madonna performed it on her 2006 Confessions Tour, which I also own on Disc.  That is a great tour and when I think of that tour, I think of Live to Tell and when I listen to Live to Tell from True Blue, or the original, I often think of that tour.  In it Madonna exalts herself on a crucifix and performs most of the song while being crucified.  Of course she isn’t really being crucified but it sure is fun to watch given her connection to Roman Catholicism.  I think it’s amazing but apparently the Vatican didn’t think it was.  Don’t they know great marketing when they see it?

Madonna: Bedtime Stories

Bedtime Stories was a great album and still is.  I am in love with the maxi-singles released from it more than the album itself, but none the less the album still contains some great lyrics.  I was just listening to the maxi-single for Bedtime Story and Secret.  Those are both very well-written songs and extremely highly-produced, which means they were not thrown together at the last second, rather were put together with extreme caution and care.  Bedtime Story is a great club anthem and Secret, the lead-single from the album, is a great song choice for a more mainstream ideal.  Either way this album is a great compilation and that’s not even to mention a great Hip Hop felt Human Nature and Power Ballad, Take a Bow.  This album is also noted as the longest run between studio albums until it is topped by the ongoing latest run between Hard Candy and her yet to be named and released 12th studio album dropping next year in 2012.  That will be the longest run between albums but right now it stands at her run between Bedtime Stories and Ray of Light.

Madonna: Sticky & Sweet Tour

The Sticky & Sweet Tour is out of this world and if you have never purchased or seen one of Madonna's tours then you are truly missing out.  Her concerts remain the most popular in the world.  She grosses more on her tours than any other act or artist.  I might have exaggerated a little bit there but the Sticky & Sweet Tour broke many records in terms of its ticket sales, commercial gross and audience attendance.

Madonna: The Immaculate Collection

What should I write about?  I just finished listening to The Immaculate Collection along with watching the Sticky & Sweet Tour.  I don’t know what’s better but I love the Sticky & Sweet Tour so it must be that, although The Immaculate Collection contains songs that can’t be found anywhere else.  The Immaculate Collection is a staple in everyone’s collection and if it isn’t then it should be.

Madonna: Erotica

I just finished listening to the most amazing Madonna set that I have ever heard.  It’s not new material but amazing none the less.  I received this album around twenty years ago on CD but I first had it on cassette.  That was before I decided to switch from cassettes to CDs thinking it would be better and it was.  The only positive result of switching from CDs to Digital Downloads is the cost saving, as the quality is not nearly as good, now that I have invested so much time and income in those types of things.  I am looking forward to the next evolution however, as I have a feeling that it will be better in quality.  This album came out around twenty years ago on this day.  It was actually released on October 20th, 1992 but the lead single was released on October 13th, 1992 so I always think of it during this time of year, as in my opinion it is one of the most-well produced albums of all history.  I am saying that as a person who is somewhat biased but it’s pretty hard to ignore that era of music and her impact on that genre.

Alien Anthology: Alien Resurrection

I finally finished my Alien Anthology on Blu-ray Disc.  It was amazing and Alien Resurrection was a great way to wrap up the series.  This is a historical and educational film series, in the sense that it is classic motion picture quality and linguistically informative, respectively.  It is set in the future and although it is Science Fiction, it contains useful information for the development of the human race and contains useful information for the digestion of the mind.  It is riddled with useful information and takes many decades to digest, considering that the first installment was created in the 70s.  This particular installment features actors Sigourney Weaver, Winona Ryder, and Ron Perlman.  I just finished a movie with Ron Perlman in it entitled Season of the Witch and Sigourney Weaver can be found in Avatar.  Winona Ryder is most famous for her 2001 arrest, but that shouldn’t stop you from acquiring her Filmography as it encompasses really amazing artwork.

Alien Anthology: Alien^3

I am watching the third installment of the Alien Anthology or Alien^3 as it’s called, and it is pretty creepy.  They are on a distant planet and it creeps me out because it is full of people who are former inmates from a maximum security prison and they are only acting.  The people who this happens to in real life are probably way creepier.
So I just finished the third installment of the Alien Anthology on Blu-ray Disc.  It was pretty exciting, but as I approach the end of the series of films I become complacent with the acting as it isn’t as good as the preceding films.  Anyhow, I did enjoy the end of the third film because I have been watching it for about a month now, off and on, as it was so boring but I finally decided to finish it tonight; and it was worth it.  Now I can put it back on the shelf for months to come.

Alien Anthology: Aliens

Just started the second installment in the Alien Anthology, it’s pretty exciting, but still a long way off in the future.  Apparently it takes place in the year 2179 and we are still over 160 years away, actually more like 170, and that’s well over a lifetime in this era.  However I am not holding out hope because things can change quickly and they always are changing.  Scientific discoveries have lead to the age group of 80+ being the fastest growing during the second last census in the country of which I live.
That was a great way to wrap up the second installment of the Alien Anthology.  I got this Anthology on Blu-ray Disc because it was released recently on Blu-ray Disc and that is the only reason I got it.  I would not have gotten it on DVD because I wasn’t into DVDs when it was released on DVD.  It was only recently that I became involved with DVDs but I have already moved onto Blu-ray Discs as I have an abundant collection of DVDs and movies are no exception, although I have far more DVDs with Television Shows on them than I do with Movies.

Alien Anthology: Alien

The Alien movie is a great movie, but I have seen it three times now in the span of less than a year.  In fact the first time I saw it was the last day of the year, last year, in 2010, on New Year’s Eve.  I am definitely looking forward to that time period again as it is the most wonderful time of the year, in my opinion.  It’s just unlike any other time of year and this year will be extra special as it is the last Christmas before the end of the world as we know it.  Not only that, but some people think that going back to school is the most wonderful time of the year, and they would be right if they didn’t believe in the magic of Christmas and at this point in history, not very many people do not believe in it.  Anyhow, definitely check out the Alien Anthology, and if nothing else, then the first Alien movie, appropriately entitled Alien.

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King

I just finished the extra-long edition from The Lord of the Rings.  The third installment is over three hours long, but it is totally worth it if you can stick it out.  I was late to this series, only catching the third installment while it was in the theatre.  That was all the way back in 2003.  Since then I have received the trilogy on DVD albeit years later.  It was Christmas and I received it as a gift during the year 2008.  I will never forget it as those were some of the best times of my life.  I remember getting it for Christmas that year and watching the entire trilogy for the next few days.  It was memorable and unforgettable.
This time around I decided to start from scratch as usual and watch the entire trilogy from beginning to end.  The last installment is of course my favorite, but the others are fun as well.  The Return of the King garnered a lot of hype and anticipation.  It also won for Best Picture the following year of its release at the 76th Academy Awards along with all 10 of the other awards it was nominated for.  This film is a classic and if you have never seen it or if you have never purchased it then I recommend it on Blu-ray Disc as it is now available in High-Definition and I would recommend it over DVD but even then it’s a great time.

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers

I just finished the first part of The Two Towers because I am breaking it up into four parts; given that it is so long.  It was pretty exciting to see the first part, although I would have loved to have seen it on Blu-ray Disc as that would have been spectacular, as opposed to pretty exciting.  It’s great seeing movies on DVD but if you have gone the next step, then it is hard to go back.  Like right now I am about to watch part of a Blu-ray and I can hardly contain my excitement.
I just finished the Two Towers and of course there was an awe inspiring message at the end but I have seen it so many times that it loses a certain, je ne sais quoi, at this point.  Anyhow, I wasn't actually watching the whole part of this movie in entirety, rather watching it here and there while I worked on my cell phone and did other things.  I was multi-tasking is what I am trying to tell you because at this point I know exactly what is going to happen given the amount of times I have seen it.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

I am actually in the middle of watching The Fellowship of the Ring from The Lord of the Rings film trilogy. So I hear they are coming out with a two part prequel to this trilogy. That should be exciting and I am looking forward to that with great anticipation. Until then I have this on DVD, but oh how I wish I would have waited to get it on Blu-ray Disc since it is so much more exciting in High Definition.

I learned a valuable lesson on that edition of The Lord of the Rings. I am still watching The Fellowship of the Ring but the first installment of this trilogy has some great lessons in it. One lesson is that a certain part of your life might be over but that doesn’t mean you should abandon your quest, it is just one part of a bigger picture. You have often heard that you should think of the big picture and what that has to offer, so try to embrace your past and move on.

That was actually a great way to wrap up the first installment of the Trilogy. I am so glad I got this Trilogy on Disc because it wouldn’t have been the same without it, since I have seen it so many times. This is actually my second time watching it this year, given that it is such an amazing Trilogy and cannot seem to get enough of it. Anyhow, I will give it a rest while I wait for the urge to see the second installment appropriately entitled The Two Towers.

Keeping Up with the Kardashians: Season Two, episode 9

That was a great episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.  I am approaching the Season Finale and that makes me sad because there is only one more season released on DVD as far as I know and I am pretty far away from getting that.  I need to buy it from Amazon.com and then wait months before the next few seasons are released on DVD.  I could always watch it on the air, but it’s so much better to watch it on DVD given the lack of commercials.

Jersey Shore: Season Two, episode 8

That was a great episode of Jersey Shore.  I have seen it before but it still looked like brand new to me.  Anyhow I was just talking to Mike “The Situation” for a minute so that was a great and it reminded me of that.  But don’t get me wrong it was only a simple Tweet although he did reply.  Anyhow this is a great show and I recommend it to any partier, you know who you are.

The Simple Life: Season Two (Road Trip), episode 10

I just finished the Season Finale of the Second Season from the Simple Life.  That season is entitled Road Trip and oh what a road trip it was.  I love watching Paris and Nicole cross the country.  It’s amazing and thrilling at the same time.  Of course they belong in Los Angeles, but it’s great for them to see the rest of the country.  I enjoyed this season so much that I decided to watch it for a fourth time, or if my memory serves me correctly it could be more, but I am pretty sure it is at least four.  So now it’s on to the Third Season which is my favorite, so be prepared for some great entertainment.

Private Practice: Season Two, episode 7

That was actually a really good episode of Private Practice.  I am enjoying this show more and more, but most likely because I had to literally jump through hoops to get it earlier this year.  That part of my life is over but I am glad to have it because it prevents me from wanting to jump through anymore hoops.

Lost: Season Five, episode 1

Well that was a pretty good episode of Lost.  I actually started the Fifth Season so it was the Season Premiere of that season.  That’s pretty interesting considering I have had that season for about nine months now; which is a pretty big record if you consider I have never waited that long to start watching something I own on DVD.  I also have a movie that I got from back in the spring which hasn’t been seen yet either, but not nearly as long as that.  Anyhow this was a pretty good episode so I am looking forward to watching the rest of the season but I am in no way, shape or form rushing out to buy the Sixth Season because it looks like I will be watching this for a while.

Rome: Season One, episode 1

I decided to start watching Rome again since I am desperate for something to watch on Mondays and I want to Blog about something I own on Disc...I just found out that Rome originally aired on Sundays so there goes my plan for having something to watch on Mondays.  I like to watch shows on the day they originally aired as it brings some authenticity towards it and in the case of Grey’s Anatomy and shows that are still on the air, it serves as a promotional tool as someone who sees my tweets or Facebook status updates may be more enticed to watch something that is still on the air if they have seen me talking about it earlier in the day.

The Tudors: Season Two, episode 2

Alright so I just finished the second episode of Season Two and it was pretty interesting, but boy does this show ever drag on.  I will be happy to be done with this series, but that doesn’t mean I am going to rush through it as I have done that before and it was a mistake.  This show is somewhat well-written and somewhat well-produced but I can still tell that it’s Canadian and I can’t tell so much with the new Historical Drama entitled the Borgias, also from Showtime, on the horizon.  I highly recommend that show and I somewhat recommend this show but I am watching it for the second time so please try to keep that in mind.

Nicole Scherzinger: Don't Hold Your Breath

I have been waiting so long for Nicole Scherzinger to blow me away and I am glad I waited because she did.  Not only is she on the new hit Reality Show entitled The X Factor but she has a great new album out since the demise of her girl-group the Pussycat Dolls.  I really wish the Pussycat Dolls would have continued on a bit further, although I am not ruling out a reunited Pussycat Dolls group down the road.  I can see why she wanted to flourish on her own but I was just getting into the Pussycat Dolls with their massive success from Slumdog Millionaire, Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny)That was and still is an amazing song if you haven’t heard it or bought it yet.  This current song is a great song choice to coincide with her debut on Primetime Television and I am glad I bought it.

Pitbull featuring Marc Anthony: Rain Over Me

This is a great track, not only is Pitbull all the rage right now, but Marc Anthony is a superstar in his own right.  He was after all married to Jennifer Lopez.  That’s pretty exciting in and of itself, but above and beyond that he has a pretty exciting name, considering that Mark Antony is one of the most-famous persons in Ancient History.  So where does that leave him?  He is still pretty exciting in his own right like I said and I would have to say that he is truly the only reason I downloaded this song.  It’s not because I do not adore Pitbull, but I wanted to give him a break after the much-hyped and anticipated release of On the Floor featuring himself and performed by none other than herself, Jennifer Lopez; the person’s spouse featured on this song - Rain Over Me - Marc Anthony.
