I am having lots of fun changing the names in the Sims 2. I recommend you take extreme caution if you have any interest in doing so as it is an extremely advanced procedure. It even involves downloading a third party software package so that you can hack into your install. Anyhow it is quite fun and I had to do this for myself because my Sims were moving out and they had the same last name of the household they lived in prior to moving out. It all started when Cassandra Goth married Don and he took her last name. That was a big mistake but she had the wedding at her house so instead of taking his last name which is commonplace, he took hers because it was at her house. Anyhow, they had a child together and then it really bothered me because they ended up moving out and the whole family turned into another Goth family and what I really wanted was for them to retain his family name which is Lothario.
