TiK ToK was released as Ke$ha’s debut single and oh what a single it is. Released all the way back in the summer of 2009, I highly recommend it to get a feel for what was going on in the world at that time. The Great Recession had just begun but ironically so had the party according to this song. It talks about the party not stopping and then when you listen to it all of these years later, it makes complete sense. There was nothing to do back then except for to rest and relax. Now that things are heating up again it’s difficult to remember that everything serves a purpose; that time definitely made me feel more energized nowadays.
