Dixie Chicks
Just finished listening to the most recent Dixie Chicks studio album, being Taking the Long Way. It was pretty amazing and it was especially amazing because they were singing about crucifixion in one of their songs and I happened to have listened to that one song on Good Friday. Anyhow it was a great song, and a great album, it’s just I have been waiting for a follow-up ever since their record hit way back then which was around five years ago now. Anyhow I can wait as long as they are pursuing another venture. However if they decide to break up then I will be very very upset thinking about the fact that they are truly the only country act that I ever pay attention to anymore, since things have changed so much since last Century. Country music used to be very cool and ever since they started to introduce more of a pop feel, it has blurred the lines between Country and Pop, and therefore in my opinion has pushed me towards more of a Pop dynamic, since my roots are deeply seeded in Pop music to begin with. Take Lady GaGa for an example, I have never really wanted to pay attention to her, but then all of a sudden she begins to be the only thing that I can think of. She has even eclipsed Madonna at some intersections.
