That's the way love goes was released as the lead single from Janet Jackson's fifth Studio album entitled janet. It was a great way to kick off a great album. It was just like a warm-up to the rest of the album considering its mid tempo beat. If followed suit although much more intense as far as lyrics and rhythm go.
