Heartbreaker was released as the lead single to Mariah Carey's sixth Studio album entitled Rainbow. It was released at the cusp of fall in 1999, just before the new Millennium. The atmosphere in North America was very party-like with a cycle of 1,000 years ending and a new one about to start. Looking back on that time, I have fond memories but the world would soon change.
