Someday was released from Mariah Carey's debut Studio album, simply entitled Mariah Carey. Therefore it is a self-titled debut Studio album, just like Madonna's but the similarities do not end there. Madonna is often used to describe the Blessed Virgin Mary and Mariah is a name derived from the simplistic version or Mary. There were three significant Marys in Christ's life and his mother was differentiated from the other two by using the term Madonna instead of Mary.
