Boyz was released as the lead single to Kala,
although it definitely did not catch my attention. Even though in this day and age it takes on a
whole new meaning; Paper Planes is the single that caught my attention from this
album and that was not released until eight months after the release of
Boyz. Kala was definitely slow to catch
on, but once Paper Planes was released the album blew up. All I heard was Paper Planes for months and
it was even featured in the hit movie Slumdog Millionaire, a film I
support. Above and beyond that, Paper Planes was even sampled on Swagga like Us; a song by T.I. and Jay-Z featuring
Kanye West and Lil’ Wayne.
