One Step Closer was released as the lead single from Hybrid Theory, Linkin Park's debut Studio album. It's a great song and most definitely represents the music scene in Los Angeles at the turn of the century if you ask me. I think of the likes of Alanis Morissette and No Doubt when I say that. They are a little bit more bubble gum pop in a sense. But none the less, Linkin Park was bore out of that time period.
