We Belong Together was released as the second single from The Emancipation of Mimi. The Emancipation of Mimi was released as Mariah Carey's eighth Studio album discounting Glitter and her first Christmas album. Mariah Carey did a phenomenal job with the release of We Belong Together; it re-solidified her position at the top of the food chain in the Music industry; behind Madonna only as far as I am concerned.
