Vogue was released as the lead single from I'm Breathless, a soundtrack album that Madonna released in the early 90s. I wasn't quite sure what to think of it back then and I still don't quite understand it. But to the best of my recollection Madonna appeared in the film Dick Tracy and so she wanted to release an album centered on that; although it is not the soundtrack album for the film.
